Greg, Candi and Katherine were absolutely an amazing team to partner with to buy our first house. They worked back from our preferences, and matched it with their decades worth of knowledge to find us our perfect house. We feel lucky to have been referred to them by a friend. I will highlight few things that stood out to us. Professional and personalized: Greg, Candi and Katherine presented to us on day one about the market, process and how they would be able to help us. In the conversation they made effort and spent time on understanding our needs and dug a layer deeper to the important elements driving those needs. We have worked with other realtors before, but we have not found the balance of having a well oiled process, but personalizing to the individual needs. Deep knowledge: Greg, Candi and Katherine have spent most of their life in the peninsula and decades buying and selling properties in the area. They provided us advice on neighborhoods, price points, noise/light and other tradeoffs associated with each area and house. They were very knowledgeable in explaining the disclosures, and risks associated with each house. They always provided an honest opinion and advice, never tried to 'sell' us on a property. In fact, we were torn about one property and I remember a conversation late in the night with Greg, Candi and Katherine that helped us decide to pass up on the property for the right one for us. Commitment: Between the three of them, they always were available to us. They accompanied us on house visits early mornings and late evenings on working days and weekends. Connections: Candi and Greg have a network of some of the area's best service providers, from handymen to termite inspectors and structural engineers. You really underestimate the value of a well-connected realtor until you look around in the Bay Area and see the wide discrepancy in house ages. It also helps that Candi and Greg often make improvements to their own sales listings and can help you assess renovations. Finally, since they have been working in the area for years, they were able to find and identify listings before they came onto the market. Negotiation: We had quite a number of exchanges with the sellers, and Greg always handled them with expertise and provided smart recommendations. In addition, since California's RE process does not involve lawyers, we relied on Greg and Candi to be well-versed in the various contracts and closing processes, which they excelled at. The list goes on. Early in the process, I remarked how Greg had managed to find a property that fit exactly what we had said we were looking for on paper. It was impressive -- we eventually chose a neighboring property.
